Life Encounter Counseling Services, Inc.

Privacy Policy

Last updated: November 2026

This policy explains what information the Life Encounter Counseling Services, Inc. website (lifeencounter.com) collects when you visit, how we use it, and the outside services involved.

It covers this website only. Anything you share with us as a client, including information about your health or your counseling, is protected by federal health privacy law (HIPAA) and described in our Notice of Privacy Practices, which you receive when you start counseling with us.

Please don’t send health information through this website

Our contact form and email are not secure ways to share private health information. Please don’t include health details or the reason you’re seeking counseling. We’ll talk about those privately once we’re in touch. You can also call us at (503) 837-3449.

Information you choose to send us

  • The contact form asks for your name, email address, an optional phone number, and your question.
  • The employment application form asks for the details listed on the Employment page. Please don’t include any client names or client information.
  • Email and phone calls: if you email or call us, we receive what you send or tell us.

Both forms are delivered by Web3Forms, a form delivery service that emails your message to our office. Web3Forms is not a health care service and has not signed a health privacy (HIPAA) agreement with us, which is why our forms ask for general information only.

We use what you send only to reply to you, or, for job applications, to consider you for a position. We don’t sell it, and we don’t share it for marketing.

Booking appointments

The Book an Appointment buttons take you to SimplePractice, the client portal we use for scheduling, intake paperwork and client records. Once you’re there, SimplePractice’s own privacy policy applies, and what you enter becomes part of your confidential client record.

Website analytics and advertising

We use Google Analytics and Google Ads, through Google Tag Manager, to understand how people find and use our website and whether our ads help people book an appointment.

  • These Google tools use cookies and collect information such as the pages you visit, the website that sent you here, your device and browser type, and a general location based on your internet (IP) address.
  • They don’t run on our booking, contact or form pages.
  • We count clicks on our Book an Appointment buttons. We don’t see anything you do in SimplePractice.
  • We have turned off remarketing and personalized advertising in Google Ads, and Google signals in Google Analytics, so your visits here aren’t used to show you our ads on other websites.

To limit what Google collects, you can install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, change your settings in Google’s My Ad Center, or block cookies in your browser. The website works without them.

Cookies

Apart from the Google cookies described above, our website doesn’t use cookies to follow your visits. Our hosting provider may set a short-lived security cookie that helps tell visitors apart from automated traffic.

Our hosting provider

Our website is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare handles technical information such as your IP address and browser type in order to deliver pages and protect the site from attacks.

Our fonts and our site search run from our own website. What you type into the search box stays in your browser; it isn’t sent to us or anyone else.

  • Videos are hosted by Vimeo. They load only when you press play, with Vimeo’s do-not-track setting turned on.
  • The Psychology Today and GoodTherapy badges on our home page load from those websites, which receive your IP address and browser information, as with any web request.
  • Links to other websites, such as articles, map apps and social media, take you to sites with their own privacy policies.

Children

Our website isn’t meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect information from them through it. If you’re a parent looking for counseling for your child, please call us.

Your choices

You can ask us what information you’ve sent us through this website, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email support@lifeencounter.com or call (503) 837-3449. We may need to keep some information when the law requires it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we’ll post the new version here and update the date at the top.
