In life we run into challenges that cause us to face the possibility of making a change. The challenge might be dealing with a situation that we never thought we’d find ourselves in, or it might be something that has been with us for a long time that we can no longer ignore. When we really look at those challenges, we come to a place of realizing that it’s time for a change for ourselves and/or for those we care most about. It is my joy to walk alongside you in the process of change. Together we will consider the way you have lived your life story and find new insight into areas of frustration, pain and disappointment. Since none of us live in a vacuum, we will explore your life story in the context of family dynamics, relationships, culture and community. We will work together to find new ways of thinking, believing, and engaging in daily life so that you may begin to make steps toward living the life you most desire.
People choose to enter into counseling for all sorts of reasons. Whatever that reason is for you, as your therapist I will honor and respect the decision you make to entrust me with your life story at whatever level you choose to share it. I will view our relationship as a collaborative one, and we will work together as a team to achieve your therapeutic goals.
My goal is to create a non-judgmental, supportive space that will bring about new strength, perspective and vitality. I use a variety of approaches and tools that I will tailor to your needs and our work together.
